aving electricity is always a hard task to complete, as making sacrifices such as turning your hair dryer off before your hair is dry can be quite annoying. However, that doesn’t always have to be the case, as its more than possible to save a few pounds on electricity without making sacrifices. Here are a few ways to save on electricity.
Close Your Curtains – By closing one’s curtains at dusk, the burden on your electricity bill is decreased significantly, as thermal heat is retained within the room and can’t escape through the glass. If you want to go the extra mile, buy heavy curtains and use them during the winter months to really retain the heat in your flat or house.
Tighten Your Faucets/Taps – Walk around your house and check all the faucets in your house, including the one’s in your bathroom. Make sure that none of them are leaking and, if they are, grab a wrench and fix it yourself! The benefits of taking five minutes out of your day to fix a few leaky faucets will be exponential.
Turn off that TV – Before leaving your television room, make sure that both your set box and your television are turned off. You may think its okay to only turn one off or to leave the television running, but the costs will quickly add up, especially if you turn off the set box at night but leave the television on!
