I
f you are an avid
Snapchat user, then you must have noticed the changes that came up early last year after the features in the app were changed. One of the changes that annoyed a lot of
Snapchat users was merging the messages with snap stories. Although there was a public outcry online urging the company to revert to the
old Snapchat, the cries fell on deaf ears. You do not need to continue feeling frustrated. Here is how you can change back to the old design and reunite with the features that you liked the most.
How to get old Snapchat back on the iPhone
For
iPhone users, first, delete the app. Make sure you have backed up all your memories to avoid losing them. Next step, go to 'settings' on your phone, click on 'iTunes and App Store' and select 'turn off automatic updates'. Once this is done, you can now re-download
Snapchat. When setting up, you will need to input your email address and your password. Do not input your password but select 'forget password' instead. This will bring you various options. Choose to reset your password via phone, then type in the code that was sent to your device. You will be logged in and get back to the
old Snapchat.
How to get old Snapchat back on Android Phones
If you are an
Android user, we have a fix for you as well. First, uninstall the app by pressing the
Snapchat icon and dragging it to the uninstall button that pops on your screen. Remember to back up memories before deleting the app. Next, go to 'settings' on
Google Play Store, select the 'auto update apps' option and click on 'do not auto-update apps'. You should then download the old version of
Snapchat. Follow the login process, and you will be back to the
old Snapchat. Remember not to update this app when updating other apps.
