ome of the best 90's memories you still treasure are most probably related to music since, most people, seem to agree that it was a great decade for music lovers. If you were old enough to live that decade, in this article you are going to be reminded of all the great songs that decade gave us.
If the 90's had one thing that was variety, and that was also the case in the music business. There was a bit of everything from rock to pop, r&b and dance, and all of these styles were absolutely massive.
A genre in particular that was big in the 90's was grunge which became popular thanks to bands like Pearl Jam and, of course, Nirvana, who managed to sell millions of records thanks to hit songs such as 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' and 'Comes As You Are' from their iconic album 'Nevermind'.
But rock was also extremely popular during the first half of the 90's and some of the biggest songs were released by iconic bands such as U2, Bon Jovi and then newcomers The Cranberries who managed to sell about 15 million copies of their 'No Need To Argue' which included their biggest single, 'Zombie', which became an anthem in the whole of Europe and even in the USA. And who can forget about Brit Pop which gave us bands such as Oasis and Blur?!
However, no article about 90's memories related to music could be complete without talking about the massive pop explossion that took over the world as soon as we were halfway through the decade. It was the summer of 1996 when five girls released 'Wannabe' and became the biggest band of the planet at the time and the biggest girl band ever. The Spice Girls might have lasted just four years, but no one was able to come close to their reign during that time and they started pop mania.
If was thanks to them, in fact, that other pop groups such as the Backstreet Boys and solo artists like Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera were launched to the world and managed to sell millions of records thanks to some of the catchiest songs the world has ever had the chance to hear.
