T itle"> There is not even 8 months to go before the Commonwealth Games 2018 in Australia, and international rugby team Scotland Sevens is all set to succeed this time round. The captain Scott Riddell was heard saying, "Something special could happen". He believes his team is in good shape this season and is convinced his team could win a medal in these Games. He’s been around the team for quite a few years now, and has played the Games in Delhi in 2010 and in Glasgow in 2014. He was heard commenting that he was just getting into things in the Delhi Games and was glad to have made it to the quarter-finals in Glasgow. The 7s is one of the three teams set to represent Scotland in the Games in 2018, the other two being netball and men’s basketball. All the teams are hoping to win a gold for Scotland this season, and Scott has faith in his team’s shape under the tutelage of the new head coach John Dalziel. It’s an exciting year for the team, but Scott has a lot of logistics to work out as a captain, what with the Games taking place midway through the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series, which will end much later, concluding the season. Winning the last tournament they played in and qualifying in the final for the one before that in France seems to be a good sign. The team will have a busy season, with the World Cup in San Francisco, ten World Series events and, of course, the Games, and the captain is ready for ‘something special’ to happen. With no team from Scotland winning a medal yet, they are looking to turn things around this time.
