H uman Resource Information Systems make a business run smoothly and become more productive. It reduces paperwork and enables a business to move forward into new technological systems. If you're planning on implementing an HR system, then you need to follow this checklist.

Things To Do

  1. Make sure you have the right person for each role. The project will need to run smoothly and your project manager, committees, and implementation teams should be capable of fulfilling the requirements of their roles.
  2. When you're building your business case, align it with core organizational goals to strengthen it.
  3. Find someone at a senior level in the company to champion your cause. They'll speak to other managers and secure the project.
  4. Special project managers cost a lot of money, so consider finding a consultant to take on the management and offer advice.
  5. You can move straight into the new HRIS system, or run the new and old parallel systems simultaneously for a smoother transition. It depends on whether you want an immediate transition or would prefer a slow rollout with more time to train staff.
  6. Your team will be using the new system, so it's important to train them first. Don't leave it until the system has been officially implemented as it might slow your business down.
  7. Look at how effective the new system will be. Does the company implement long-term systems or are they likely to remove it quickly? It's important to know if your project will be worth all the effort it will take to implement.
