adly, there isn’t a solid price to getting a stairlift installed. There are a lot of variables that
come into play. However, there is always a solution and we will talk you through the basic
prices for stair lift installation in your home.
Stairlift Models and Cost
The main reason for different costs are the homeowner’s stairs. There are two broad models of stairlift; one for a straight stair case and one for curved. Obviously, the cost will increase if the stairs are curved as the rails will have to be custom made to fit.
Regardless of the stairs, the model will also effect the price. You can go for the basic models which will do the job, or you can add a bunch of features. It all depends on what the individual needs.
Average Cost
We have searched around and found some average costs for having a stair lift installed. We have split it into two sections, the first being for standard straight stair and the second being for curved stairs.
Straight Stair’s:
The cost of straight stairlifts has remained pretty solid over the years. A simple stair lift will cost the individual around £2000. This would be your base cost for a simple function stairlift. However, the cost will rise if you need additional features.
Curved Stairs:
It has been reported that stairlifts for curved stairs could cost up to £6000. The price does increase a lot; however, this is due to the fact that the stair lift would have to be made to fit.
The general rule is that every corner that is in your stairs, will double the original price. If you need or know someone wanting a stairlift installed, there are companies that will come and give you a free quote. This will include the price of the stair lift and the installation. However, as a stair lift is classed as a mobility product, VAT is not applicable.
