W orld Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), an American publicly traded corporation, deals mainly in professional wrestling. WWE was cofounded by Toots Mondt and Jess McMahon in 1952. As of 2014, the company had risen to be the leading wrestling promotion organization globally, broadcasting to close to 36 million viewers across the world and holding more than 300 events annually. The organization’s leading sources of income include direct product sales, home video, music, and product licensing. Product Licensing The global licensing program of World Wrestling Entertainment builds partnerships with various organizations around the world to develop products featuring their trademarks and logos as well as characters in diverse categories such as housewares, books, video games, sporting goods, and video games. These products are available at all WWE’s leading retailer shops. Since 1999, the company has sold over 60 million video game units, generating over 1.8 billion USD. And since its release in 2012, the company has sold more than two million "WWE ‘13" units. Home Video In the fourth quarter of 2015, the company released seven new titles on DVD, electronically, and a few on Blu-ray. During the same period, WWE had 9 10 titles according to Nielsen Video Scan. International licensing agreements in various countries, including the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, South Africa, and Switzerland, facilitate the distribution of their new home video production outside the United States. Music World Wrestling Entertainment has historically relied on music as a device for connecting their brand to all media platforms. The organization also provides a stage to display the interlacing of music and wrestling with an incredibly enhanced exposure. WWE considers that quality is the answer and, therefore, consistently produces original music through their in-house composers. WWE is innovative and puts every effort to keep with the expansion of the industry’s development towards digital music. The corporation ensures they release all their superstar themes songs via their digital partners such as Google Play, YouTube, and iTune. This approach provides World Wrestling Entertainment‘s audience with access to songs heard across different programming within a very short period, such as a week, without having to wait for a full-length album release.
