ome remedies are best to take care of allergies like running nose, itchy eyes and not being able to breathe or sneeze properly which is quite uncomfortable. There are some people who are affected by pollen grain while others it is dust or the cold weather.
There are some people who rush to the hospital for treatment for this, but you do not have to as there are effective home remedies that you can go for. The most common home remedy is taking raw honey which works for some people, but not for many others. Below are other three most effective home remedies for the seasonal allergies that are likely to take you down:
Bee pollen: for those who local honey does not have any positive effects, then bee pollen just might do the trick. You need to expose yourself to small amounts to start with and then increase gradually. This increases your immunity to pollen grains therefore even when you come across them; they will not affect you. The idea here is that you should gradually expose yourself to allergies before the season when you are affected sets in to boost your immunity. However, for this to work, ensure that you are not severely allergic to bees. Secondly, ensure that you get local pollen only as you are trying to be tolerant to those in your area and not others. The bee pollen comes in three forms: powder, granules, and capsules. Granules are the best since it is the same form that they appear on the plants.
Take plenty of fresh citrus drinks. In most cases, people get allergies during the cold season. Therefore you should start taking cold drinks before the season sets in so that your body can already be accustomed to the cold. This way, you will not have any allergies when the cold actually sets in. As much as hot tea is soothing to the body, taking it all the time is a way of weakening your immunity against cold allergies.
Citrus is best since it has vitamin C which is a good remedy for allergies too. Vitamin C helps to boost your immune system against many diseases. For best results, squeeze fresh lemons and oranges and then chill them for some time before drinking. You could also add honey and ice cubes to ensure the drink is cold till you finish it. Drink this daily.
Red onion water: red onions have a chemical compound known as quercetin which helps counter allergies. This compound also reduces inflammations as well as opens up airways for better breathing. Slice the onion into thin slices and add these pieces to the water. Let the mixture stand for 12 hours before drinking a glass twice daily. You could store the mixture in the fridge for up to 4 days. This is one of the most effective home remedies for seasonal allergies.
