D o you remember when in 1997, all of a sudden, a young actor became a household name? It was thanks to what is probably one of the most, if not the most, famous movie in history, 'Titanic', that Leonardo Di Caprio became the massive actor he still is today. From one day to another, Leonardo Di Caprio became the most famous actor on the planet and he had millions of fans who adored his cute, good looks and, of course, his acting talent. That is why when he took part in 'The Man in the Iron Mask', the first movie he starred in after 'Titanic', people were expecting it to be another massive hit for the star, but that never really happened. In the years after that, he took part in countless other movies such as 'The Beach', and 'Don's Plum', which also failed to achieve the success everyone was expecting. However, his career took a turn once more after starring in 'Gangs Of New York', a movie which was not only a success, it also received great reviews from critics and Leonardo's acting abilities were praised. That is when the star started receiving some of the most interesting roles of his career so far, such as 2004's 'The Aviator' or 2007's 'Blood Diamond', both of which gave him the chance to be nominated for an Oscar. Leonardo Di Caprio has been nominated for the most prestigious award in cinema a total of five times thanks to other movies such as 'What's Eating Gilbert Grape' from 1993 and 'The Wolf of Wall Street' which came out in 2014. In fact, he had been nominated so many times that the fact he hadn't won an Oscar yet became an Internet meme and got many cinema fans disappointed because they all believed the actor was more than good enough to have an Oscar among his huge list of awards. However, luckily for Leonardo Di Caprio, everything changed in 2016 thanks to playing Hugh Glass in 'The Revenant', a movie which came out in 2015 and which finally got him his first Oscar earlier this year.   [photo: www.flickr.com]
