F ried foods in general are wonderfully tasty, but come with some unhealthy drawbacks. Wouldn’t it be great to be able to keep eating food that tasted like it’s fried, without all of the negatives? Well, there is a machine that can do just that, and it’s called the air fryer.  Unlike typical deep fryers, which use quite a bit of oil to cook, air fryers do not use oil. As their name implies, the machine uses hot air to cook your food instead. This reduction of oil can have a drastically positive effect on nutrition content, lowering the fat content by up to 80%. Yet, the food tastes almost exactly like it was fried in an oil based fryer. In addition to the health benefits of not using a traditional fryer, there is no mess after using it. This means not having to worry about where to dump all that used oil, and accidental splashes or drops anywhere. Besides those helpful benefits, air fryers don’t take as long as traditional fryers to heat. Since they work without oil, they heat to cooking temperature within 3 minutes. Let’s say you want to fry french fries from scratch in the air fryer. Depending on the size and thickness, most batches will be ready to eat within 12 minutes. That’s only a few minutes more than some microwave meals. There’s also a temperature adjustment, so you can fry your food to the crispness and way you like. A built in timer will let you preset cooking times, and remind you when your awesome fried food item is ready. Some of the higher end air fryers even have what’s called a ‘food separator’. This nifty partition allows you to fry multiple different foods at the same time, without those foods mixing together. And last but not least, some models even come with an air freshener that diffuses that fried food smell, so your kitchen and house remain smelling the way they did before you used the air fryer. There are many reasons to buy an air fryer, but these reasons should be enough for you to make a purchase!
