hen asked to take a poll, most people consider the TV one of the greatest inventions of all times as it affords us all countless hours of entertainment for little money. TV series are especially popular and slowly they have become as detailed and as high-end as movies. This means that every year new shows come out and there is quite a bit of hype surrounding new releases. Here are some of the most awaited TV series of 2016.
- Big Little Lies. Created by David E. Kelley and based on the homonymous book by Liane Moriarty, this show follows the life of three women who become friends in front of their children’s kindergarten until a murder occurs. Starring Nicole Kidman as one of the main characters, filming started in January.
- The Crown. Written for Netflix, this American TV drama follows the life of Queen Elizabeth II, Britain’s longest-running monarch. If you liked "Downton Abbey" you will love this!

It aired on February 15th, 2016.

- War and Peace. An adaptation of Leo Tolstoy’s masterpiece, the show follows five aristocratic Russian families during Napoleon’s invasion of the country. Starring Paul Dano, Lily Collins, and James Norton, the show was aired in the UK on January 3rd and in the USA on January 18th.
- The Young Pope. Created by Paolo Sorrentino, this American-British-French TV show follows the life of Lenny Belardo, the cardinal who will become the youngest pope in history – Pope Pius XIII. Featuring eight episodes, the show can boast names such as Jude Law and Diane Keaton.
- Love. Aired on February 19th, this show explores the different perspective men and women have on love and dating by following the story of Mickey (Gillian Jacobs), a beautiful and free-spirited girl, and Gus (Paul Rust), a nerdy guy.
