C reated by David Benioff and D. Weiss, the game of thrones is one of the fascinating TV series premiered on HBO. The famous American fantasy drama television series, the game of thrones, filmed at Titanic Studios, has captured a base fan globally, and it has received both positive views as well critics primarily based on the nudity and violence depicted. Despite the criticism, the game of thrones have won various awards and received nominations including but not limited to 2015’s Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series, Golden Globe Award nominations as well as three Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation. From its first season, the game of thrones presents a theme of conflict. From conflict of interests to conflicts within an individual, the theme has carried on throughout the releases. During its first season, the conflict arises as a result of civil war among a number of gracious houses for the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms. These wars created enmity, divided loyalty as well as the quest for vengeance, a feature that proves to be dramatic carrying forward to the following seasons. As a result of alliances created, the pursuit of vengeance and the ever perpetual struggle to take the Iron Throne, the game of thrones vividly reveals how conflicts hinder progress. The alliances formed are easily broken by personal interest as every party desires a particular element, different from the other side and as the show reveals, conflicts within an individual tends to force selfishness to take over a person. As those interests become apparent, new alliances are formed, further creating new loyalties and heightened hostility between the noble houses. Betrayal is a clear revelation of how the conflicts forces individuals to act selfishly, as they strive to achieve their goals, say reclaiming the throne, vengeance or just acquiring riches and noble status. The game of thrones presents dramatic fantasy from the wars, showing historical conflicts of the ancient world, how kingdoms were ruled by powerhouses, how individuals become kings either as a rite of passage, dethroning a ruling king among other ways.
